It's Time For Third Year And Cold Weather!

It's officially Autumn! I have gone from being pretty much uncomfortable in my own skin for the past 3 months because of the heat (and my lack of summer clothing) to flaunting my comfier and more autumnal clothing. My mum recently came to visit for the weekend and i took the opportunity to buy some more appropriate clothing, fit for the colder months which are slowly approaching. My wardrobe is now full of those gorgeous brown, burnt orange and rose tones which i am loving lately. I've had my fair share of pumpkin spiced latte's, late nights with a fluffy blanket and Gilmore Girls, Halloween Lush specials and Christmas candle browsing (not to mention the Christmas gift ideas I've been having!) Lets just say I'm full of festive feels. After welcoming you all to the colder seasons it's time to get onto the next big thing in my life right now... I'm in third year!

After the struggle of actually getting to this point, I'm proud to say I'm finally in my last year at university and it's safe to say i can't wait until I'm wearing that cape and gown and education is finally behind me. If you don't already know, i study Web Design and Development and it hasn't been the easiest road. This year will no doubt be the hardest year of my education, why wouldn't it be?

This year is going to either make or break me, and i feel like I'm more than prepared this year. I'm settled in my new job as a receptionist at a gym, I'm settled in my new flat and I'm happy with life now. I had my first lesson, i copied up my notes all neat and i finished my first piece of work.

This year organisation is key for me this year, i think it's important to stay on top of the work I'm given before i head out properly into the big wide world. I'm determined to do well for myself and my family.

Finally, I'll be getting back to blogging about normal life. I'll keep you updated about my academic life and my style life.

Life Update #3

It's been a while. 5 months to be exact, 5 months since I've written a post and felt comfortable doing so. It's been 5 months of ups and downs, happy times and awful times. It's exactly a year since i first set up this blog, and it feels so good to be back. There isn't a specific reason i stopped writing, i just didn't feel the passion for it anymore and I didn't have the time to find it. But i have found that passion again, and i also have the time to sit down and talk about some of the things care about. I thought my first post (because its been so long) should just be about general things, what's been going on and what's to come.

First of all, I've finally finished my second year of University. For those of you who don't know, i study Web Design and Development and it's probably been my hardest academic and personal year so far. I suffered in silence because i was the only girl in my class, which in the end basically convinced me not to turn up to classes and to struggle with the work load alone. Even though this year was tough, i am so happy i got through it and so happy to be going onto my final year in September and hopefully coming out of all of this with a degree. If i had any advice for people struggling at uni, which I've come to understand, pretty much everyone is, it would be- don't suffer alone, you're making things 10x worse for yourself and you CAN do this!

I recently got a new part time job, it's nothing brilliant or exciting, but it's better and more welcoming than where i was. I got to the point in my old job where i hated everyone, i hated the sight of the store and i hated my whole day if i was working. It just wasn't where i was meant to be.

But my biggest news yet is that I've recently moved in with my boyfriend! Our new home is small and perfect, in a new little area with a new beginning. So far we are loving everything about it, apart from forking out all the money to pay for rent,  the bond and furniture of course. But it's perfect so far, there have been no arguments and I'm actually looking forward to coming home every day which makes me so happy. Next week i will be posting an apartment tour, giving you insight to everything in my life!

I'm so happy to be back, and if i ever disappear again feel free to shout at me. I hope you're all great and i want to hear what's new in your life too in the comments bellow!

February Favourites

Happy leap day!! First of all i hope you all have a lovely day and have tried lots of new and exciting things this month. I haven't really. Just the usual, new fashion, food and TV shows. But i figured i would share it all with you anyway. I'm sticking to my vow and carrying on with some monthly favourites, you can read my January Favourites here!

  1. Simple shower gel.
Even though we have had two months since Christmas, i was lucky enough to receive lots of Soap & Glory and other lovely smellies. Which means i am probably set in my shower until next Christmas. But these are all creams and scrubs, i have nothing for that fresh scent i need in a morning before university or work. So i decided to try the Simple shower gel after it was recommended by one of the lovely girls i live with. I've gone through 2 bottles in 2 months i love it that much. The scent is fresh and wakes me up instantly. I find some shower creams are nice but they don't make me feel clean, whereas the Simple shower gel does which i love.
  2. Juicy Water: Raspberries & Apples.
I work every Sunday, but because it's that dead in the shop we have a lot of down time. So on my break i always go to Costa, get a hot drink, some food and one of these drinks. I'm all for different juices and this has got to be my favourite one lately. It's fresh and healthy and everything you want in a yummy drink.
  3. White Hot Chocolate.
Sticking on the drinks and costa route, i recently tried a white hot chocolate from there and it's as amazing as it sounds. I know how annoying it is that sometimes when you get a hot drink you have to wait half an hour for it to cool down, because this has a lot of milk in it, it's fine to drink straight away which is a perk. You get to have cherry or raspberry sauce on top of the cream and it's just a bunch of delicousness.
  4. Lukas Graham.
If you don't already know who this amazing guy is, he's a singer from Denmark and recently released his amazing hit 7 Years. After i heard this i spent a long train journey listening to his latest songs and i fell in love with his voice more. They're actually a band which i also love, they're new and upcoming so please check them out, share the love!
  5. Lie To Me.
I'm a huge fan of Criminal Minds and most things crime, so when my boyfriend introduced me to this TV show i knew i would love it. It's about a group of people who work with the FBI and can tell when people are lying and every emotion on someones face. They work with the FBI to catch the bad guys and the stories are so gripping. I got through 3 seasons in around a week and a half.
  6. Shadowhunters.
Again, sticking with the TV show Netflix kind of thing i want to talk about a new show which is a Netflix original- Shadowhunters. There is a series of books called The Mortal Instruments which i read when i was 16 and fell in love with. It was then made into a film, which wasn't that successful so they made it into a show. And i am officially hooked! I can't describe it without giving it away, so just go and check it out! Give it a couple of episodes and if you're not totally in love with it... i'm sorry.
  7. Striped tops.
I've always been a huge fan of New Look fashion, it is basically my go to shop when i need anything. And lately i have been all for the striped jumpers and tops to pair with a skirt or jeans for that casual look. I don't know why i am just loving them.
  8. Boyfriend jeans.
Another piece of fashion i have introduced myself to is Boyfriend jeans. After seeing Tanya Burr's amazing jeans from Topshop i decided i wanted to get some and see if my little legs would look okay in them. The Topshop ones weren't in my price range so i purchased the New Look ones with slits and i am in love, they are so comfy and look perfect with a light jacked, striped top and belt.
I hope you enjoyed this months favourites, again i apologise for the lack of excitement but! Let me know what your favourites were this month.

Love,
Danielle

Peaches & Co Product Review

A few days ago i got in contact with a small and upcoming accessory company and wondered if it would like to be reviewed on my blog. They said yes and i was lucky enough to be sent some gorgeous goodies today! If you're all for reviews and picture happy posts, this is for you. The company is called Peaches & Co which you can check out here, and currently stocks prints, pocket mirrors and phone cases. Everything is unique and beautiful so i can't wait to share it all with you.

Prints

When i was talking to the creator Danielle about the different products she sells she mentioned the prints, i thought they would be like many other companies and be flimsy. I was so surprised when i got these, the designs are beautiful and i fell totally in love. These designs are ones i would put in frames or on the wall because they are that lovely. The paper type is strong and would look lovely on a wall which i liked. As you all know i am a lover of curly writing so the font just fits my personality perfectly.

Pocket Mirrors

They stock a few different designs for pocket mirrors which are all lovely and creative. I ended up choosing these two because of the fonts, colours and designs. Only recently have i found my love for pocket mirrors and i currently have one stored in my handbag from another quirky brand but i have to say it will be getting replaced by one of these lovely ones! I think they create perfect little gifts and i love the uniqueness. Normal pocket mirrors have a standard print but these are cute accessories every girl needs in an every day life. The colours on the 'you look lovely' mirror remind me of spring which i also adore.

Phone Case

Along with having loads of different prints in the pocket mirrors Danielle has created different prints for phone cases. When she told me i could choose which one i wanted, i instantly picked the unicorn case. Because i'm all things unicorn at the minute. I have an iPhone 6S so the cases are a little snug and hard to get in and out which is annoying, but it's better than having nothing on it (better to be safe than sorry in my world!) The print is so cute and colourful which i love, i can feel the complements rolling in already. Another thing i love about it is the material, it is shiny and sleek. I don't like the rubber ones too much! Overall i really love this item, it's adorable, fun and pretty.

My favourite item has to be the Cheer Up Buttercup print, it's so girly and pretty, the font is beautiful! I can't wait to frame it and put it in my room. I would like to thank Danielle from Peaches & Co for supplying me with all these beautiful goodies. I honestly have nothing bad to say about her products, she was lovely and willing to let me review them and i was happily surprised when i opened them up. I highly recommend speaking to here about her products and going over to check their website out! (I've linked it above.)

What was your favourite out of them all? I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Love,
Danielle

Unwinding After A Long Day

Lately myself and the people who surround me have been nothing but busy, we all go to uni and have part time jobs to keep us ok between loans. I've noticed that it's really hard for some people to be able to relax and have a nice evening after a long day at work or university, especially if you know you have to get back up tomorrow and do it all again (it has been a week of early starts for me.) It's hard to unwind after constantly doing things all day, so if you're like me and can't stop fidgeting when you get home, this tips could seriously help you relax and help you to look after yourself a bit more.

1. Pamper Session
Lets talk beauty... Get your favorite face mask, cleanse your face and enjoy some pamper time. It's important to feel refreshed and happy instead of just falling into bed without taking your makeup off. Fortunately i never do this, it's so important to take your makeup off before going to sleep. Think of the pimples you will wake up with the next day if you don't clean your face! The horror. A face mask is a perfect way to unwind and give your skin the treat it needs after having piles of makeup on it all day. Another thing you could do is take a long relaxing bath. Take a bath bomb or your favourite bubbles and soak for about half an hour, I'm sure you will be ready to crawl into bed after that treat.

2. A Nice Dinner
I'm guilty of not eating properly after work, I'll settle for snack food but i will always wake up in the morning starving because i haven't eaten real tea the night before. It's important to look after your body and make sure it's ready for your next busy day. Eat your favourite meal and make sure you enjoy it, this will motivate you to do it more often.

3. Some Reading
I love to read. I'm into any genre and i get into books straight away. When you're a book addict like me it's easy to sit down with a cup of tea and dive back into a world which isn't your own. Let your mind wander and your eyes tire, you'll soon be relaxed enough for an easy nights sleep.

4. Watch A Film/TV Program
I have certain films and programs i watch when i'm going to sleep. I'm one of them annoying people that can't sleep unless there's something on the TV. So my go to things are Chalet Girl, Burlesque and Mock The Week. I don't know why they're just nice to fall asleep to. Find your fave film and put it on or maybe even just a nice film.

5. Playing Games
Spend some time with your family and friends, play some board games or something.

6. Snack Food
Indulge your dark side and go and buy all of your favorite snack foods. Maybe even some ice cream? lay in bed, relax, watch some crappy TV and eat everything you own.

Let me know what you guys like to do after a long day!

Love,
Danielle

How To Have A Good Day- Taken or Single. (Valentines Day!)

Hey guys! As you all know it's Valentines Day this Sunday and i wanted to share some ideas for the day with you. Even if you're single you can still have a good day with your friends or on your own- you don't have to be sad all day! Celebrate your independence. Instead of doing a gift guide i decided to help you all in this way.

Taken.
Classic dinner.
To me, there's nothing better than going out with a loved one to a restaurant and just talking the whole time. What's better than being with the person you love and enjoying some amazing food? Just make sure you book in advance!

Theatre/Cinema trip.
Last year me and my boyfriend went to the cinema and for dinner on valentines day, being the romantic couple we are we went to see American Sniper- clearly the most romantic couple ever. The cinema is just a perfect place to stuff your face, watch a comedy and laugh with your other half. Another idea i have is to go to the theatre. Boys probably won't appreciate this but i think it's a really nice day/evening out. You can make it posh and go somewhere nice before for cocktails or something. I just think the whole setting is romantic.

Ice skating.
If you're graceful and ladylike this would be a perfect idea for you and your other half. You can hold hands and do all that romantic stuff.

Netflix and chill.
It's nice to spend time with the one you love inside, being cosy. Cook a nice meal, watch a romantic film and snuggle on the sofa.

Bowling.
Bowling isn't my thing, but it can be hilarious. It's a fun way to laugh together and make some memories.

Drinks.

The atmosphere in a bar or pub is amazing if it's your first Valentines Day. Some cocktails, wine or prosecco are the perfect ways to make any situation unawkward.

Somewhere Sentimental.

Go to a place which is special to you both, have an afternoon there and talk about your memories.

Single.
Drinks with your friends.
Find a single friend, go for drinks, get drunk, eat drunk food and giggle a lot.

Beach trip.

Go to the beach with your friends, get an ice cream and make some memories with your best friends.

Netflix, a takeaway and wine.

You can be with your friends, or by yourself. It's just another day in the end, watch your favourite TV show or film, eat your favourite food and maybe some Ben & Jerry's (the only guys you can really rely on) and crack open some delicious wine.

Shopping.

Come on, what is better than shopping?

Overtime.

Make some extra money at work and pick up and extra shift, at the end of the day it's just a normal day.

I hope you all have a lovely day, no matter what you do. Let me know what your plans are!

Love,
Danielle

January Favourites

I've decided that this year i will stick to my monthly favourites because i will be trying so many new things and i want to share it all with you guys! I'll be including beauty, life, fashion, reading, food and travel or maybe even random things. Because it's still winter there won't be anything outside in this favourites because.. cold.

  1. Nars Sheer Glow foundation.
Before using Nars Sheer Glow i found my love for MAC Studio Fix, but i found out they test on animals and even though i own some of their products, i'm not sure if i'll shop their again... lets just say it's put me off. So after this i decided i would try Nars, because that's another foundation i have heard so much about and haven't tried before. I sat down at the Nars counter and the lady with immaculate make up on took all of mine off and i was naked for a second. Then she matched my skin up with the perfect shade for me, did everything else like concealer and powder and there you have it. I was in love with a new (pricey) foundation. Ever since i have worn it every day and i don't think i'd go back to any other foundation. It layers just enough for me and the coverage is great, it works amazing with any concealer and powder and sits right on my face.
  2. Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara.
Now this is a product i had heard SO much about, and i didn't get it in January i must admit i've had it a few months now but i needed to tell you all how much i love it. I'm one of those unlucky people who aren't blessed with long eyelashes, but this mascara makes it look like i am. Lately i've been wearing more natural make up- no liquid eyeliner which i'm proud about after 6 years of wearing it basically every day. So this mascara gives me the dark look i need to match my eyebrows every day.
  3. Turtle neck jumpers.
The other day i was in the tiny New Look in my town and there was a tiny sale. In that sale i found two of the comfiest turtle necks i have ever owned and it's safe to say i'm in love, one is cream and one is baby pink. Most of my wardrobe is black and grey- so these are nice items to own. During this season i've found my love of thin jumpers to chuck on with some jeans and some ankle boots. There's a way to dress this look up or just have a casual one. I swear there is nothing better to me right now than these new jumpers.
  4. Thai Green Chicken Curry.
I love trying new food, there's not a lot out there that i don't like. I'm not into spicy food though, salt and pepper is spicy to me which means i don't try a lot of curry. However the other month we were in one of my favourite restaurants 'Yee Rah' and i ordered the Thai Green Chicken curry. And it was amazing. I've tried the Waga and Marks & Spencers one since, but nothing could be as amazing as that first one.
  5. Jessica Jones.
The one thing everyone knows about me is that i love to binge watch TV shows on Netflix, i get addicted really quick and i could recommend so many different ones from different genres. My favourite genre for TV shows and books is the supernatural, like Teen Wolf or The Vampire Diaries. Netflix raved on and on about Jessica Jones and i watched a few episodes and i did like it, but i wasn't motivated to watch it until one day when i had nothing better to do. After episode 6 i was hooked. I think i watched that season in 2 days after that. If you love strong female characters, sass and action this is for you.
  6. Online shopping.
January is student loan month, and student loan means a few extra pennies to buy nice things for myself. When i get paid i try to buy something nice for myself straight away so i'm not tempted to buy anything else later on when i'm poorer. I have done well, but there are birthdays and occasions coming up like Mothers Day and Valentines Day which make me spend them extra few pennies earlier than expected. I like to get ideas and plan ahead when it comes to buying things for other people, and that's what i've been doing... online mostly. Everything is in one place and it's just so freaking easy. You come home one day from University or work and there it is, ready for you to open and wrap. Who can resist online shopping?
  7. Caramel latte's.
Over the Christmas period i found my love for hot chocolates again but no that i'm super busy again i have my love for latte's again. That extra kick in a morning or after i finish work is just amazing, with the sweet taste of caramel... it's perfect. I'm in love with them, what can i say?
  8. Planning trips.
I have a serious case of Wanderlust lately, i keep looking at holidays (knowing i can't afford them) and planning where i would go in these places. It gets me down knowing i probably won't be able to go away this year because of money, but i still like to know the places i want to travel.
Let me know what your favourites from January are and if you've tried anything new! Thanks for reading and until next time my loves.

Love,
Danielle

Life Update

Not only welcome back to you guys, welcome back to me too. I've been bad with my blog and i've only done one post so far in December, i feel like i've abandoned it and i hate that. So, to get back with it i've decided to share with you all why i've been so busy, what i've been up to and what i will be getting up to over the Christmas time!

The first thing i want to mention to you all, in case you haven't noticed, is my new header! I've picked a new font and selected a lovely festive bow. If any of you are looking to make a new header email or tweet me and i'd love to help!

I have two deadlines coming up in January, one of them i've nearly finished but the other i haven't started yet. I know i keep saying this but Year 2 is so hard. You all need to prepare for this if you're at university. A few of us are struggling more than ever right now, being so far from home, having work to do, going to university and actually working part time. There's hardly any time to breath, so my spare time is spent sleeping. And i even feel guilty for sleeping because i should be finishing off my reports but never mind.. i'll finish another day.

Work's keeping me on my toes, i'm in four days a week now and i'm constantly exhausted but that's the way working is. Welcome to the adult world my family keep telling me. I know it's worth it when the money comes in but i currently have nothing until next week.

In a week it's my one year anniversary, which is amazing for me. I'm not a very trusting person but this year has taught me so much and i've never been happier than where we've come. Three days after that it's my 20th birthday, which i'll be spending at university and i'll be travelling home the next day to spend christmas with my family. I've always felt like i'm older than i actually am, an old soul some people would say. I can't wait to actually be an age i feel. I'll be coming back on New Years Eve to have a big party with some of my favourite people which i'm excited about.

Another major update for me is that i've started writing a new book. I came up with a completely new idea the other day and it's just inspired me to continue writing in any free time i have, because i do enjoy it when i have the motivation. I'll keep you up to date with how this goes along!

Thanks for reading and i hope you're all in the festive spirit!

Love,
Danielle

Not Shabby Very Chic Christmas Treatbox

Last month i purchased the November Treatbox from Not Shabby Very Chic for the amazing price of £12.95. I wrote a small review which you can also read here and find out about all the cute things i got last month. If you are not familiar with Not Shabby Very Chic you can check out their website here, browse among all the beautifulness and become as obsessed with the store as i am. I was one of the lucky bloggers chosen to review this months and i must say, i am very impressed! It is clear that a lot off effort, thought and time goes into these boxes which i love. I took a lovely festive picture which you guys can see below of what i first saw when i opened my Christmas box. I am actually in love with the print that came with this one, the quote is one of my favourites from Elf and it's a really good size for a frame or to stick on your wall.

Each month the treatbox comes with a little letter telling you all about Not Shabby Very Chic, it also thanks you for buying the box which is personal and cute. Last month i didn't receive one of these but this months came with a little card about the details and how to get in touch with them.

This little bag (which i love) holds something secretive in. I would definitely reuse this little pound for my hair accessories, i love the design and the font. Everything about this cute gift is perfect.

I think this is probably my favourite item in this festive box. I can hang it anywhere, (my wardrobe handles) and it will bring life, colour and a little bit of christmas into my pretty much bland bedroom. It's by a company called Sass & Belle, head over to there website and i'm sure there are more cute things to see!

Along with all this cute stuff came these two little guys. The one on the left is probably my least favourite item because i don't collect these little things. However i have found a home for him, next to my mini groot pop vinyl. The santa will be handing with the quote which i love, it could also easily hang on a Christmas tree but i haven't got mine up yet (sad face.)

Before we carry on looking at all the amazing things inside this months box i wanted to take some time to appreciate the packaging. As soon as i opened this box i became all excited for Christmas and it gave me that extra little festive feeling. But then i saw the cutest little foiletti pieces, santa, snow flakes, stars, snow and candy canes in all it's tiny gorgeous form. I appreciate the little things the most you see.

What is a treatbox without some chocolate or sweeties? In this months case we have both! I haven't had a candy cane yet, so this will be my first and i'm really looking forward to it. My second favourite piece from this box is the festive straws with a little sign on that says Be Merry! which melts my heart. Every time i have a drink, i have a straw, so this is a perfect gift for me! (Look at that red ribbon, eee.)

I received these stickers in the box, which means i don't have to cellotape my presents and instead they can have a quirky little saying to brighten their Christmas day a little bit more.

My last and final image is the one below. I have to say, i'm in love. It deserves to be extra big for the heart felt message on the bottom. I am into all these cute things, i believe in karma and that everything happens for a reason. So this bracelet will mean a lot to me.

Overall i thoroughly enjoyed reviewing this box for you all. I think you should go check out there website and maybe sign up for this box, even if it's just the odd month! Leave your opinions on each piece and tell me which was your favourite.

Danielle

Favourite Bakes & A Giveaway

Welcome back to my blog guys! As i have mentioned before i am getting more and more involved with companies and i am loving it. They have been so kind to me and made me feel involved and super happy. I finally have that chance to share one of them with you, with the giveaway bellow. But first i wanted to share my favourite bakes with you. This will be my first baking post, but i love baking. It's something that i enjoy and it relaxes me. I always feel like i have accomplished something after i have finished it and it's out of the oven.

Apple Pie.
I adore making this, it's one of my favourite deserts and it reminds me of sunday lunch at my nans.

Cheesecake.
I would always choose this when i'm out for dinner, it's simple to make and delicious.

Cupcakes.
To me, cupcakes are adorable!

Chocolate cake.
Everyone loves a piece of chocolate cake to go with a cup of tea.

Cookies.
Cookies are something easy to bake, anything can go in a cookie and i just love the simplicity.

Crumble.
Apple, rhubarb any thing. I prefer this over pie because of the texture i think.

Brownies.
Mini chocolate cake, what's better than that?

Now onto the giveaway! I am collabing with a company called Pixics, who specialise in Geek Chic! Find out all the information about the product here! Enter below and good luck.

My 10 Goals For 2016

Christmas is finally upon us and we're all very excited about that. Well.. i know i am. With Christmas songs surrounding me at work, i come home and watch festive films and get snug whilst the weather is terrible. It's hard not to be in the festive spirit right now. But as soon as Christmas is over, the new year will be here and we will be in 2016. I will be half way through my second year at university and half way into the adult life that i will have to live when i have finished. So i decided to share with you all what some of my goals for next year will be, it will probably be one of the most busy years i have had but it will also be full of exciting new things and opportunities.

  1. Do a year or summer placement with a Web Design company. Lately i have been applying for these placements, and so far i have had no luck. I'm not willing to relocate back to my home city, and the choices here are limited. But i'm sure i will find somewhere eventually!
  2. Travel more. This year due to money issues and time, i've only been on one trip, Barcelona. It was amazing and i was extremely lucky to go there, but i want to travel so much in the next few years and i was disappointed i didn't fulfil that.
  3. Visit home more. I'm 2 hours away from Leeds and i miss my family and they miss me. I want to travel back home and make sure they know that they are all important to me.
  4. Pick up extra curricular activities. I want to learn something new, a new language or sport and code would be handy.
  5. Get involved with more companies for my blog. I'm becoming more involved in more companies which i love, (you will see some of these in the next few months) but i would love to be involved with more.
  6. Join a gym and be healthy. I think it's time i should work out a bit more.
  7. Make new friends. My second year at uni has been very limited, i'm bombarded with work and uni and there isn't much time for socialising. But that's something i would like to do next year. You can never have too many friends,
  8. Meet people from the blogging community. I haven't spoken to many people in the community although everyone seems nice, i'd love to do meet ups and go to events.
  9. Pick up photography. It's something i loved at school and would love to do again.
  10. Watch lots of new things. Yes i already do this.. weekly but i will continue to watch new shows and fall in love with them all.
I'd love to know any of your goals for 2016! Comment below & until next time my loves.

Second Year Struggles

My first year at university was a breeze. I had loads of friends on my course, the work was pretty easy and life was just simple. Then i moved into my own house with a few people, moved of campus, into a new class with no one i know and things began to change. Not only do i know absolutely no one, but i'm the only girl in a class with boys. They are all amazing, and they know what they are doing. If i get stuck with work it's kind of hard, i can ask my teachers but it's hard when you want to bombard them with email after email.

All my friends are in their second year now too, and it's safe to say i'm not the only one struggling this year. The work is so much harder than last year and the work pile is crazy. Not only do most of us have at least two assignments a week, but we have to work on top of that to afford simple things like food and living. Therefore it leaves not enough time to fully commit to university.

Because i'm struggling so much to be motivated to complete my work, uni has taken a step back in my life, which is something i hoped would never happen. I keep telling myself that it will all be fine and i will get over this phase soon enough (and i'm sure i will) it's just a matter of time. It's important to keep powering through when the times are hard and you basically have no time to breath.

Something which is important to remember is that it will all be worth it in the end. The amount of work you have to do might suck, but it's worth it when you have that degree at the end of it all. The sweat, blood and tears will be over soon and that's something i'm looking forward to.

The whole point of this post is to let all the students out there know that they aren't alone in the thoughts of quitting. I've noticed lately that so many people are saying the want to quit. But the truth is they won't, it's just one of them things. You have to pick yourself up and get on with it like an adult would. Because that's what i am now isn't it? An adult?

It's okay to have a horrible day, where you eat nothing but ice cream and stay in bed. Everyone needs a breath of fresh air and a day to themselves. Don't be ashamed to not be on top of everything all the time. Take some time for yourself and be refreshed.

If any of you are struggling and can't handle the pressure, i'm here. Leave a message and i will try my hardest to reply with something witty and helpful. What struggles have you come across this semester? Maybe we can all help each other.

Sorry for the rant, but until next time my loves.
Danielle.

10 Things To Do In The Cold Weather

The weather is getting colder each day, and hey.. i'm not complaining because it's my favourite time of year. However it does mean that everyone will spend more time inside, and probably be more bored. So i have decided to share with you all what i will be doing in my spare time over Autumn/Winter.

  1. Blog/write. More down time means more time which could be spent on your blog or writing, use it wisely i say.
  2. Catch up on your favourite TV shows. Why not spend a whole day watching back to back episodes of a show? I'm not ashamed to say i've had days like this and neither should you.
  3. Go for coffee with friends and catch up. Everyone should have a day a month to meet up in a coffee shop and have a good gossip over a caramel latte.
  4. Read a book. There's nothing better than being snug in a big jumper and getting involved with a new book.
  5. Complete more work. Whether or not it's at your job or university or school, there will always be something you need to do. So spend your time catching up and feel accomplished at the end.
  6. Online shopping. You don't need to leave the comfort of your own home to shop now.
  7. Spring clean your bedroom/house. Clean everything, wash everything, live in a clean environment.
  8. Festive baking. There are so many youtubers and bloggers out there who are releasing their own baking tutorials, involving all things spice which is amazing.
  9. Fresh walks. The air is so clear right now, go for a late evening walk with a friend and have a chat, breath in the fresh air.
  10. Start Christmas planning. I have learnt to be more prepared around Christmas. Make a plan, work out your money and then enjoy it more with plenty of time to spare.
Thanks for reading guys, what do you do with your day off when the weather is cold?

"What does she want us to do, not eat because we have curves?"

Today whilst i was bored in my lecture i was scrolling through my Twitter feed and came across one of my fellow bloggers talking about her latest post. She wrote about how everyone was fighting with her about the sensitive subject she wrote about. I read all of her tweets, the ones she received from other people and her actual post. It was all about obese people and how the world shouldn't accept them, how the world should stop making bigger sized clothes to force people to diet. To which i automatically thought "what does she want people to do? walk around completely naked?". I then spoke to one of my house mates on the matter and another blogger, Joanna. I was so tempted to tweet back with my thought but we came to the conclusion that she just wants views, and that hate to her is better than no attention at all, the way she approached the subject was aggressive and rude and i felt upset knowing people could be seriously effected by her post and attitude. After having a big discussion about the matter and other subjects with Joanna i decided to write this post, all about society now and the way people see themselves.

The idea of plus size women can strike up so many different conversations. But the one road i want to go down is confidence and people being happy in themselves. Joanna said one thing in our discussion which i asked if i could quote her on, because it's true and i completely agree. "I'm not that slim, i have big boobs and big hips and a chub around my stomach - am i plus size?". It obviously got me thinking about myself and others around me. I am two different sizes on top and bottom, because of my big hips, small waist and big boobs. Which size is counted as plus size? The average size in the UK is 12, which to me sounds reasonable because i myself am a size 12. I'm not unhealthy, i don't exactly eat what i should daily and i skip meals sometimes but not because i want to make myself feel better, but because i go to work, i have university i'm simply too busy to eat sometimes. Girls in our society have busy lives, we don't sit at home and look after our husbands any more.

A few months ago someone shared an article with me about the new mannequins in American Apparel. Their ribs were showing and it was all around disgusting. I have always known since i started clothes shopping for myself that American Apparel cater for skinnier girls. Which is fine, there are shops out there that cater for curvier girls. But the new mannequins took this to a new level. It shows girls who are just starting to enjoy shopping that it's okay to look like that, that it's okay to not eat for days on end to look 'beautiful'. The truth is if you're happy, you are beautiful. I love my friends and family no matter what they look like.

In the end i just want to say the society shouldn't pressure you into doing something that will make you unhappy. You should live your life for yourself and no one else. Please leave comments bellow about your opinions on the subject and any advice you have for other girls and women! You never know, you might change someone's outlook on life.

Check out Joanna's #WeekOfWoman which i featured on today!

Being A Computing Student And A Girl

As some of you will know i've just gone into my second year of university (which is why i haven't been as active as i'd of liked, sorry guys!). I study Web Design and Development.. and i'm the only girl in my class. No it isn't a big deal but in a department which is dominated by men it can be super hard sometimes. So i decided to write a post about what i want to do in the future and some tips to help people who can be pushed to the side lines, step out and be your own person. Basically, this is going to be one of my more chatty posts just keeping you all up to date.

In my first year all of the computing students were merged together like one happy family. That is until we all went on different pathways, which means my world is completely different this year. It's my first full week back and i do like it. People warn you and say your second year will be harder and they weren't lying. My work load is already more than i would have in 2 weeks and i've been there two days.

I don't have a problem with being the only girl in the class, apart from the few strange looks i get each lesson i do nothing but get on with it. Which in my opinion, is what i need to do now. Lecturers and people in the computing business are always saying they need more women in the computing world and i agree. Something so silly as being the only girl in a class full of boys shouldn't stop me, right? The teachers i have are super supportive and happy for me to be there, so the extra support is fab.

I have a meeting next week with one of the lecturers to discuss a year placement next year and i'm pretty hopeful that i'll get a good spot in a good company. I don't mean to be sexist, but boys (the ones i know anyway) are insanely unorganised and basically don't know what they want. Which means i will hopefully have the first pick out of the companies.

Here are some tips to help you get settled into your career area if you're feeling lost:

  1. Don't be afraid to ask for help.
  2. Get on with your work and don't get distracted.
  3. Don't be afraid to go the extra mile and try something new.
  4. Speak to new people.
  5. Take notes and try to remember everything that is valuable.
  6. Use your personal time wisely.
  7. Make sure you are organised.
  8. The last thing i would say to you all is, make sure you're happy because that's all really that matters.
I know this is a different post for me, i just wanted to share a piece of my world with you all. Have a wonderful day, until next time lovelies.

Love,
Danielle

Change | Life Update

For most of you it will be a very big month.. lots of new things to be doing, new people to meet and new things to experience. Not to mention it's the month of new starts. Most people will be either starting school, college or university. They are all big events in your life so it's normal to feel any kind of unease. The reason i'm writing this post, having a bit of a rant and filling you all in on my life lately is because i've been going through some changes myself and i'll be going through them in the next month too. September has always marked a new start to me, since i was at school it was always September that held a new beginning.

As most of you know a few weeks ago i moved into my new house for my second year at university. Which to me is one of the biggest changes in my life so far. Last year i moved 2 and a half hours away from Leeds to the lovely Ormskirk. I didn't know anyone and had to basically create my life all over again. But it has been the best thing i've ever done, i've realised that uni can change some people's life or it can just be a part of it. It's safe to say i'm in the changing people's life category. After spending a year in uni halls i've moved into a house with 5 other people, two i shared a flat with last year and the others i knew for other reasons. So it's a completely different environment and atmosphere, a lot of change. Living with so many other people has its perks and obviously it can come with complications, i'm not really into change, i like it to be comfortable and i like to know what i'm coming home to. Which has been up in the air for the past week because of more new people, but it's finally settling down again and everyone's getting reacquainted and happy.

Another major change in my life is my mum, she has never really been settled during my life but now she's insanely happy. She has the job that she wants and she recently got married and moved into a new house. She's the most important person to me and i'll never love anyone as much her. She inspires me so much and i'm glad she's found someone to spend her life with.

A week or two after i moved into the house i got a new part time job for extra money when my loan starts to get low. I like it and im constantly busy but it's starting to get too much because freshers week is next week and i just want free time. Because of work i can't have that, but i'd rather have money than have to worry about it so like everyone else, i'm getting on with it. To be honest i just can't wait to start my second year and have a real schedule. I've missed lessons and actual learning, i'm one of the lucky ones.. i actually like my course.

I never do posts about my actual life and i hope you all enjoyed reading about not very interesting things. But anyway, have a fabulous day and i love you all.

Love,
Danielle

Designing Headers

Hey guys! So a few weeks ago i designed my own header and even though it isn't anything special i love it. I managed to find a new font i love and a floral design to make it come to life. My blog is pretty simple, the background is white so the only image you see is the flowers.

After i made my own header i decided that i would love to make more. I'm studying a Web Design course at university so i guess making stuff and being a little creative is part of my DNA now. After around a month and a half of trying to convince my two house mates Chloe and Holly to get a blog (because i knew they would love it and be amazing at it), they asked me to design theirs too. All it took was a little more research into a font they each liked and if they would like a pretty image to go with it.

They are both just starting out but seem to enjoy it. Chloe's blog is below, she writes about lifestyle and her own life. She also puts a little piece of her cute soul into each post.

 Chloe Sapstead
chloesapstead.blogspot.co.uk

Holly's blog is below, she is one of the best nail artists i know and she's sharing her nail knowledge with you guys, how lucky are you all?

 Holly Davies
nailsfordayss.blogspot.co.uk

I designed the header below for one of my friends from home, who i spent two lovely years with at college. She loves cacti so obviously, mini cacti were needed. However she is just designing her blog and i don't have a link to it yet, but when i do i will make sure to send you guys her link!

You are all more than welcome to take a look at their blogs and give them some moral support as they're newbies. If you're interested in a free and unique header for your blog, leave a comment and i'd be more than happy to create one for you.

Danielle

One Way To Save A Life

So i'm writing this post from the comfort of my bed whilst listening to Kings Of Leon after what feels like one of the longest days of my life. I didn't get much sleep last night and i started my new job this afternoon. I wonder what impression i gave going into work with huge bags under my eyes, but we've all done it if we're honest with ourselves.

Work was good, i didn't hate it and i'm not dreading going back which is all that matters. The people seem nice and its just a standard job really (it will pay the bills). Nothing interesting happened and i doubt it will whilst i'm there. I'm quite happy with it, it seems perfect at the minute and for when i go back to university.

After i rushed home to meet Chloe my house mate, we went to give blood. It was my third time and i always feel better about myself and as if i've accomplished something with my day. The second time i did it i fainted because i hadn't drank or eaten enough during the day. So if you're thinking about doing this amazing thing, remember to look after yourself. My blood type is B- and it's one of the reasons i want to give blood. I'm only 2% of the population so i constantly receive letters and text messages asking me to book appointments and i finally plucked up the courage after i fainted.

I honestly think it is an amazing thing to do, if you're like me and don't volunteer anywhere or give money to any charities, this could be your way of giving back to people who aren't as lucky as you. I think to my self every day, i could of saved a life. And i think that is crazy.

I know this isn't one of my usual posts but i'm mentally and physically exhausted. All i really want to do right now is curl up in bed and dive into my book. I hope you've all had a wonderful day, and i urge you to think about donating blood. You could help somebody.

Activities To Cure Bordem

Since moving into my new house all i have done is either be bored or apply for jobs. Yesterday i finally become a part time employee of Card Factory, yay! So now i hopefully won't be as bored because i have this new job and i'll be starting university again soon. Me and my house mates have become the masters of curing bordem so i thought i would give you guys some tips so your summer doesn't drag.
  1. Read a new book. Me and two of my house mates recently became members of the library which is up the road, i love the fact that i can go in and choose up to 20 books and walk out with them for free. There's nothing better than falling in love with another world and new characters to take the time away.
  2. Go to the beach. If you live close to one that is. What's better than it being a hot day, looking at the ocean and having an ice cream. Or even it being a cold day, wrapping up and having a cup of tea.
  3. Play board games. Recently we have been loving Cluedo and Scrabble. We are honestly obsessed and i don't know what life was before it (how sad).
  4. Watch a new TV show. Get Netflix and find something you love, don't be ashamed to watch episode after episode in one day, we all do it.
  5. Bake cakes. I love a bit of baking, it takes up a good chunk of your day and you have something delicious at the end of it.
  6. Spring clean. There's nothing better than being motivated to do a really good clean around the house. You'll feel better after, put some bouncy music on and you're off.
  7. Move your room around. Re-arrange your room and give it a fresh look, maybe buy a few new things and make it homely.
  8. Write a blog or diary post. Take some time for yourself and write in your diary or make a blog. Something just for you and your thoughts or interests. It's good to have a hobby and to feel organised.
What do you do to cure your bordem? Let me know and i'll do it one day!

Danielle

Don't worry, be happy

How ironic is this title, huh? I wanted to write a post to give some people who struggle with day to day happiness tips. But who am i to give tips to people on how to be happy? I struggle with anxiety and believe me i am not happy every day. Lately i've been appreciating what i have, and life more and more. Today is a good day, just as yesterday and the day before that was. For that i am thankful

To me happiness is all that counts, i have so many amazing people around me and it would be easy to think that it's easy for me to be happy. But it isn't and that's okay.

Get yourself out of the house

This is the most important advice i can give you. Don't stay in the house if you feel down, there's a whole world out there which is waiting for you to explore it. Go to a park, visit a friend, go to a library or to a coffee shop. Just take a breath outside, fresh air will do you good.

Eat your favourite food and drink your favourite drink

You don't have to be healthy all the time, the good thing (only good thing) about being down is that you have a reason to eat ice cream at 3am.

Do some exercise

Get up and do some star jumps, run up and down the stairs a few times or go outside and do yoga. There's nothing better than getting your blood pumping in my opinion. Be energetic.

Watch a comedy

My favourite at the minute is The Goldbergs, i'm not even going to describe it to you. It's just hilarious and amazing and wow. If you love a good half an hour comedy, give this a go.

Go see or speak to someone close to you

Your friends and family are always there for you, some people may not understand but someone will. Don't be afraid to ask for help or tell someone you're sad. There's always someone who is able to make you see the world in a better light or just make you laugh.

I'm not a professional at being happy, i'm sorry. But if you need someone to speak to, i'm here. Don't be sad alone.

Love,
Danielle
