Jumpsuit And Playsuit Season Is Here

Now that it's colder weather and a lot of birthdays/christmas parties are coming up i thought it would be the perfect time to invest in some new and appropriate clothing. I've realised in my last few years of partying in the cold, that you can still look amazing and stay warm. My favourite looks lately are playsuits and jumpsuits.. comfy, warm and stylish all in one. (Another major reason i don't like to wear dresses or skirts, is because of the wind.. damn you wind!) I'm going to share with you some of my favourites, and maybe you guys can help me decide which ones to buy? The ones i've selected are all from a website called prettylittlething.com which is an amazingly cheep site.

Playsuits.

This one is my favourite. The long sleeves and plunging neckline draw attention away from the legs and give a more slimming look.

I adore this colour, i think it matches any skin tone well. I also love the baggy arms and the detailing on the sleeves. People who aren't as comfortable in tight clothing (like me) would be more suited and comfortable in this.

I also love this colour, and i love the baggy detail on the bottom and the tight waist in the middle. The plunging neckline is classy and very elegant in my opinion.

Jumpsuits.

This is my favourite colour at the minute, i think this is the autumn colour. I love the backless effect and the tight leg.

I'm slightly unsure about the baggy leg, however i still love the colour and the adorable backless detail.

Sticking with the same colour scheme, another baggy legged jumpsuit. More detail down the front which i love.

Let me know which ones you love or what you are loving this season!

Danielle

10 Things To Do In The Cold Weather

The weather is getting colder each day, and hey.. i'm not complaining because it's my favourite time of year. However it does mean that everyone will spend more time inside, and probably be more bored. So i have decided to share with you all what i will be doing in my spare time over Autumn/Winter.

  1. Blog/write. More down time means more time which could be spent on your blog or writing, use it wisely i say.
  2. Catch up on your favourite TV shows. Why not spend a whole day watching back to back episodes of a show? I'm not ashamed to say i've had days like this and neither should you.
  3. Go for coffee with friends and catch up. Everyone should have a day a month to meet up in a coffee shop and have a good gossip over a caramel latte.
  4. Read a book. There's nothing better than being snug in a big jumper and getting involved with a new book.
  5. Complete more work. Whether or not it's at your job or university or school, there will always be something you need to do. So spend your time catching up and feel accomplished at the end.
  6. Online shopping. You don't need to leave the comfort of your own home to shop now.
  7. Spring clean your bedroom/house. Clean everything, wash everything, live in a clean environment.
  8. Festive baking. There are so many youtubers and bloggers out there who are releasing their own baking tutorials, involving all things spice which is amazing.
  9. Fresh walks. The air is so clear right now, go for a late evening walk with a friend and have a chat, breath in the fresh air.
  10. Start Christmas planning. I have learnt to be more prepared around Christmas. Make a plan, work out your money and then enjoy it more with plenty of time to spare.
Thanks for reading guys, what do you do with your day off when the weather is cold?

"What does she want us to do, not eat because we have curves?"

Today whilst i was bored in my lecture i was scrolling through my Twitter feed and came across one of my fellow bloggers talking about her latest post. She wrote about how everyone was fighting with her about the sensitive subject she wrote about. I read all of her tweets, the ones she received from other people and her actual post. It was all about obese people and how the world shouldn't accept them, how the world should stop making bigger sized clothes to force people to diet. To which i automatically thought "what does she want people to do? walk around completely naked?". I then spoke to one of my house mates on the matter and another blogger, Joanna. I was so tempted to tweet back with my thought but we came to the conclusion that she just wants views, and that hate to her is better than no attention at all, the way she approached the subject was aggressive and rude and i felt upset knowing people could be seriously effected by her post and attitude. After having a big discussion about the matter and other subjects with Joanna i decided to write this post, all about society now and the way people see themselves.

The idea of plus size women can strike up so many different conversations. But the one road i want to go down is confidence and people being happy in themselves. Joanna said one thing in our discussion which i asked if i could quote her on, because it's true and i completely agree. "I'm not that slim, i have big boobs and big hips and a chub around my stomach - am i plus size?". It obviously got me thinking about myself and others around me. I am two different sizes on top and bottom, because of my big hips, small waist and big boobs. Which size is counted as plus size? The average size in the UK is 12, which to me sounds reasonable because i myself am a size 12. I'm not unhealthy, i don't exactly eat what i should daily and i skip meals sometimes but not because i want to make myself feel better, but because i go to work, i have university i'm simply too busy to eat sometimes. Girls in our society have busy lives, we don't sit at home and look after our husbands any more.

A few months ago someone shared an article with me about the new mannequins in American Apparel. Their ribs were showing and it was all around disgusting. I have always known since i started clothes shopping for myself that American Apparel cater for skinnier girls. Which is fine, there are shops out there that cater for curvier girls. But the new mannequins took this to a new level. It shows girls who are just starting to enjoy shopping that it's okay to look like that, that it's okay to not eat for days on end to look 'beautiful'. The truth is if you're happy, you are beautiful. I love my friends and family no matter what they look like.

In the end i just want to say the society shouldn't pressure you into doing something that will make you unhappy. You should live your life for yourself and no one else. Please leave comments bellow about your opinions on the subject and any advice you have for other girls and women! You never know, you might change someone's outlook on life.

As most of you will have noticed i'm taking a break from my travel pieces and coming up with some new ideas. But i am beginning to miss it, and i'm missing my adventurous readers. So instead of writing a travel piece i wanted to share with you guys what i would take in my travel bag onto the airplane. I saw a few months ago one of Zoellas vlogs about her take on this post, and as much as i love her some of the things were ridiculous.. who needs face masks on a flight? It's far too complicated.

  1. Folder with important documents.
  2. Head/earphones.

  4. Book.
  5. Plasters.
  6. Paracetamol.
  7. Water.
  8. Sweets.
  9. Tissues.

There's nothing more important when you're going on holiday than to have everything you need, you need to make sure you are comfortable on a flight. Let me know what you would take in your travel bag.

Reading This Autumn

Hi guys, sorry it's been so long. Well.. it's been a week but that to me is a long time. I've been super busy with work, uni and uni work, everything is starting to pile ontop of me. But on the bright side I've managed to find some time to sit down and write a post for you all. I recently took a trip to the library and picked up a few new books, even though it seems like i won't have much time to read i wanted to make sure i have something there for when i need to wind down and have some time to myself. I want to be able to sit in a cosy room with my fairy lights on, a few candles lit and read a good book.

The Death House by Sara Pinborough  (current read)
Toby's life was perfectly normal.. until it was unravelled by something as simple as a blood test. Taken from his family, Toby now lives in the Death House, an out of time existence far from the modern world, where he, and the others who live there, are studied by Matron and her team of nurses. They are looking for any sign of sickness. Any sign of their charges changing. Any sign that it's time to take them to the humanitarian. Because everybody dies. It's how you choose to live that counts.

The House At The End Of Hope Street by Menna Van Praag
When tragedy strikes Alber Ashby, she finds herself at the door of a house she's never noticed before. Number 11, Hope Street in Cambridge is no ordinary house. It's walls are steeped in the wisdom of past residents: Virginia Woolf, Dorothy Parker and Agatha Christie to name a few. Alber accepts an invitation to stay, offered to her under the condition she has 99 nights, and no more, to turn her life around. Guided by the energy of the house, where portraits come alive, bookcases refill themselves and hot chocolate has healing properties, the enchanting experience Alber and her friends share will change their lives forever.

The Queen Of The Tearling by Erica Johansen
It was on her nineteenth birthday that the soldiers came for Kelsea Glynn. They came to escort her back to the place of her birth- to ensure she takes possession of what is rightfully hers. But like many nineteen year olds Kelsea is unruly, has high principles and believes she knows better than her elders. Unlike many nineteen year olds, she is about to inherit a kingdom that is on it's knees- corrupt, debauched and dangerous. Kelsea will either become the most fearsome ruler the kingdom has known.. or be dead within the week.

A Room Swept White by Sophie Hannah
On the same day, Fliss finds out she's going to be working on a documentary about miscarriages of justice involving cot-death mothers wrongly accused of murder. the documentary will focus on three women: Helen Yardley, Sarah Jaggard and Rachel Hines. All three are now free, and the child protection zelot who did her best to send them to prison for life, Dr Judith Duffy, is under investigation for misconduct. For reasons she has shared with nobody, this is the last project Fliss wants to be working on. And then Helen Yardley is found dead at her home, and in her pocket is a card with six numbers on it, arranged in four rows of four..

Another exciting thing going on in my life at the minute, i've written one of my favourite posts Autumn Essentials for one of my blogger friends. Joanna is doing a week of women to celebrate her year old blog! Keep checking her blog for my post and the other lovely women who are guest posting too.

As you can tell i haven't picked up a love story for this month, i guess i was feeling more mysterious than lovey dovey. Anyway, tell me what you're reading this month or if you've read any of these ones! I'm sure i will be doing a review of some of these books later in the month.

Mini Candle & Beauty Haul & An Announcement

Yesterday i went for dinner in Liverpool with a few of my friends, the whole point of the trip was to go to Wagamama (one of my favourite restaurants). But not only did we go there, we did a mini shopping trip too, i obviously spent more money than i needed too. So i thought what better post than a haul? I know they're my favourites. I ended up doing something strange for me, i didn't buy any clothing, just items i completely fell in love with and needed in my life.

Snow Fair shower gel- Lush £3.95

1. Snow Fairy shower gel from Lush.
I was introduced to Lush when i was around 13, and i love most of their products. I own a few of their skin care products and i've had many, many bath bombs in my time. But their one product which i look forward to each year is their Snow Fairy shower gel. It's only available close to Christmas which makes this purchase extra special, as soon as i saw it in the window i became so happy. It smells like bubblegum and everything sweet, perfect for a relaxing shower.

Winter Spice candle- Next £5
Mango Salsa candle- Yankee £1.80

2. Winter Spice candle from Next.
I am a candle hoarder if you guys didn't already know, and the cinnamon scented ones are my favourite. So when all the new Christmas range comes out i get super giddy. I searched the new Christmas range on Next the other day online, but i didn't want to risk not liking one of the scents. So i realised it was the perfect opportunity yesterday to have a look at them all. There are three available so far and they are all very different, i went for the more cinnamon of the three. There are different styles of the holder but i chose the more festive simple one. As you can see i burnt this beautiful candle as soon as i got home yesterday and i have to say, i'm in love and so ready for christmas.

3. Mango Salsa candle from Yankee.
I have two of the cutest little candle holders ever, so the small Yankees are perfect when i just need something to liven my bedroom up. The other day i purchased two others but when i saw this i realised i had never seen it before. I love exotic scents, i think they are so fresh and lovely. I'm really excited to see what this one smells like because its almost bitter it's that fresh.

Apricot Blossom candle- Next £3

4. Apricot Blossom candle from Next.
My all time favourite candle ever. They are both the same candle, the one on the right is the old design i have from months ago which is almost nearly gone. Which is why i picked up a new one, because i can't go without it. I love the old design and i'm not into the new one as much, but i just bought it because of the scent. It's a very fruity and floral scent and it's all around beautiful.

Studio Fix Fluid foundation- MAC £22
Foundation Pump- MAC £3

5. Studio Fix Fluid foundation from MAC. SPF 15.
The last purchase i made was a MAC foundation. I'm more into drugstore cosmetics but i decided it's time i get something worth the money and amazing. So me and the girls went into the flawless MAC store and asked one of the lovely people that work there if they could reccomend something and match me up. Of course they did and in the end i bought the Studio Fix Fluid foundation and a pump to go with it. It's only my first day wearing it but i think i already love it. I will be doing a full review in the future.

I also have some exciting news to share with you all. One of my lovely blogger friends Joanna has decided to do a Week Of Women to celebrate her blogs first birthday. It will include guest bloggers like myself, writing for her blog during this week. You can find out about this exciting week here.

My Favourite Hair Styles Of 2015 So Far

I am a huge TV and film lover, so i constantly see women wearing amazing clothes, having gorgeous make up and beautiful hair styles. I'm also one of those people who change their hair all the time, so this year has been tough on my hair confidence because there are so many gorgeous women out there. I wanted to share with you some of my favourite looks from this year so far. Not only do i love their styles and hair, i love them too (major girl crushes alert).

Lucy Hale (Pretty Little Liars)- Instagram

First of all we have the lovely Lucy Hale from the huge TV show Pretty Little Liars. Don't get me wrong i love the rest of the liars but for some reason Lucy has always been my favourite. In season one she had long thick waves but this year she went for the daring option of cutting it all off. Then she went from a brunette to stunning blonde highlights, however because of her dark eyes and brows i think her latest choice is the best for her. With her pixie looking features this hair style makes her look more sophisticated and grown up.

Holland Roden (Teen Wolf) - Instagram

Next we have the all round stunning Holland Roden from Teen Wolf. Can we just take a second to see how beautiful this woman really is? She has gorgeous hair that can look amazing no matter what she does with it. But after my research i found this to be my favourite picture from her this year. It's simple to do and anyone can achieve this look, but with bold lips and brows it makes the whole outfit fab. Lets just talk about that outfit for a second.. isn't it beautiful?

Tanya Burr (YouTube)- Instagram

Now onto one of my all time favourite ladies, Tanya Burr who some of you will know from YouTube or her recent cosmetics line (which i reviewed earlier on my blog). Tanya has the luxury of not having to do much with her hair and it always looking sleek and luscious. I love the hint of copper and the way her curls frame her face.

Candice Accola (The Vampire Diaries)- Instagram

My last favourite hair style of 2015 so far goes to Candice Accola from The Vampire Diaries. For all you lovers of TVD you will know she doesn't change the colour and hardly changes the style. With loose curls running through it and her blonde hair which looks beautiful with her light complecion, what would be wrong with this hair style? Absolutely nothing.

I hope you enjoyed this more girly post, and of course.. till next time my loves.

Love,
Danielle

Being A Computing Student And A Girl

As some of you will know i've just gone into my second year of university (which is why i haven't been as active as i'd of liked, sorry guys!). I study Web Design and Development.. and i'm the only girl in my class. No it isn't a big deal but in a department which is dominated by men it can be super hard sometimes. So i decided to write a post about what i want to do in the future and some tips to help people who can be pushed to the side lines, step out and be your own person. Basically, this is going to be one of my more chatty posts just keeping you all up to date.

In my first year all of the computing students were merged together like one happy family. That is until we all went on different pathways, which means my world is completely different this year. It's my first full week back and i do like it. People warn you and say your second year will be harder and they weren't lying. My work load is already more than i would have in 2 weeks and i've been there two days.

I don't have a problem with being the only girl in the class, apart from the few strange looks i get each lesson i do nothing but get on with it. Which in my opinion, is what i need to do now. Lecturers and people in the computing business are always saying they need more women in the computing world and i agree. Something so silly as being the only girl in a class full of boys shouldn't stop me, right? The teachers i have are super supportive and happy for me to be there, so the extra support is fab.

I have a meeting next week with one of the lecturers to discuss a year placement next year and i'm pretty hopeful that i'll get a good spot in a good company. I don't mean to be sexist, but boys (the ones i know anyway) are insanely unorganised and basically don't know what they want. Which means i will hopefully have the first pick out of the companies.

Here are some tips to help you get settled into your career area if you're feeling lost:

  1. Don't be afraid to ask for help.
  2. Get on with your work and don't get distracted.
  3. Don't be afraid to go the extra mile and try something new.
  4. Speak to new people.
  5. Take notes and try to remember everything that is valuable.
  6. Use your personal time wisely.
  7. Make sure you are organised.
  8. The last thing i would say to you all is, make sure you're happy because that's all really that matters.
I know this is a different post for me, i just wanted to share a piece of my world with you all. Have a wonderful day, until next time lovelies.

Love,
Danielle
